Upcoming event discussions can be added from here.
The December 7th commemoration on top of Mount Diablo is a Pre-WWII uniform event. All services can be represented. Uniforms should be:
US Army- Class A's wools, khaki's, bolt action rifle, doughboy helmet, early webgear.
USMC- Pre-WWII USMC uniforms and equpiment, doughboy helmet or pith helmet. Any Pre-WWII associated equipment.
Navy- Same requirement.
Feel free to add specifics.

Fixed it.
We'll need a headcount for this event. Fred Klink is heading it up from what George is saying.
The Decemeber 7th Event is a commemorative lighting ceremony at the top of Mount Hamilton. Typically the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association attends this ceremony but due to dwindling numbers they are questionable to attend. It is a wonderful event although it can get cold. Our group typically posts the colors and assists the old veterans in and out. It is recommended to attend.
So far the head-count is:
Fred Klink Ken Weatherall(USMC?) John Fornbacher (Navy)

There is a tentative battle at Camp Roberts in January.
A preliminary head-count would be good. Also, our unit should be squared away as far as getting guys to send in RPS Applications and Dues to Marv Lord. Once we have enough guys on the books we'll need to pitch in to get the unit registered with the RPS.
Several members are tentatively interested in the January battle, predicated on whether or not they have a Military Drill Weekend. So if you haven't given Marv your application and dues then make it happen soon. Five or more members gets us in.
Look under "new guys, about our unit" for the links to the application. I believe the RPS Dues are $35.00 for each individual.

Does Marvin still live in Roseville? Also there is an organization called the Sons and Daughters of Pearle Harbor Survivors, I am a member, They have units in California. I would imagine they would be at the ceremony?? If not , I can write to the HQ for chapter locations in Calf. I know it is to late for this year but if they conduct this ceremony every year then next year they could put out the word. I did not know of this ceremony until this message board. I can not attend this year but next year I would make plans. Thanks, Have a Happy Thanksgiving to all. Steve

the pearl harbor survivors association was retired last year, the ceremony on Mt. Diablo,(and other places I assume) have been taken over by the sons and daughters of pearl harbor sevivors.

By my count that makes 5 of us so far with George. I was thinking of wearing my WW2 dungarees with combat gear if John is wearing his dress blues. I can wear my Army khakis like last year if George would rather I did.
